Anthony Bailey Serves as the President of the Executive Council of the Portuguese Appeal
The United Kingdom and Portugal have shared one of the longest histories in the world. The United Kingdom is one of the oldest kingdoms in the world, and Portugal was once a popular port. The partnership between the United Kingdom and Portugal has been going on for centuries, and Portuguese Appeal aims to celebrate that partnership. The partnership between the two countries is regarded as the oldest unbroken alliance in the world. It was created through the Treaty of Windsor, which was signed by the two countries back in 1386.
Since then, this partnership has only grown and blossomed. In 2016, the Portuguese Appeal elected Anthony Bailey, OBE, as its Chairman. Along with the Vice Chairman, Bailey runs the Appeal and manages the day to day activities. Bailey has become quite popular throughout the British media for the many news articles that have been published about him recently.
Bailey is a public relations consultant and the owner of Anthony Bailey Consulting, a company which he created in 2016. Before that, Bailey was running Eligo International, due to an internal restructuring, and then rebranded as Anthony Bailey Consulting. Bailey is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. Bailey is a renowned charity campaigner and a senior international diplomatic advisor. He even served as the President of Painting & Patronage, a program launched between the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia in order to foster better ties between the two countries. The program was designed to promote cultural diplomacy between the two countries.
In November, 2018, an investiture Mass took place at the Westminster Cathedral, with other twenty nine individuals taking part. Interfaith orders of knighthood were given out, and the ceremony was presided over by the Rt. Rev. Thomas Burns, the Bishop of Menevia. Anthony Bailey, a renowned interfaith campaigner, was also present as he serves as the delegate of the Order for Ireland and Great Britain together.
In 2005, Anthony Bailey was also awarded the honor of Commander of the National Order of Infante Dom Henrique by His Excellency The President of the Portuguese Republic. It was given in recognition of his many efforts to promote relationships between Portugal and other countries overseas. His services to charity and the promotion of inter-faith relationships has been incredible and Bailey has received a lot of recognition for it.
